A cider and beverage production facility in South Africa operates a wastewater reuse plant with an RO system as the final treatment stage. The incumbent RO membranes suffered from organic fouling under high-strength feed conditions, with COD levels regularly in the range of 40-70 mg/L and peaking at 100 mg/L, far in excess of typical RO feedwater guidelines.
