Overview of Role

ZwitterCo is seeking an energetic, versatile business or engineering professional to drive sales of its cutting-edge membrane technology into fast-growing, high-impact applications including sustainable protein production, water and wastewater reuse, and nutrient recovery. This role will develop customer relationships, gather market intelligence, and ensure growth in target market segments through a consultative sales approach. The candidate will start her / his ZwitterCo experience with a temporary assignment in Market Research to investigate key market dynamics before transitioning into a full-time sales role.

Candidates with interest in sales or business development in the bioprocessing; food, dairy, and beverage; or industrial sectors are encouraged to apply. Previous sales experience within water / wastewater treatment or process separations is a plus, but not a requirement.


  • Grow top-line revenue in line with agreed upon targets and goals
  • Act as a missionary for ZwitterCo’s unique technology, establishing and growing relationships with customers
  • Grow top-line revenue in line with agreed upon targets and goals
  • Maintain a robust pipeline through cold calls, inbound follow-up, and networking
  • Establish and grow relationships with consultants, sales representatives, and other industry conduits that can drive sales opportunities
  • Respond promptly to customer requests and act to resolve customer challenges
  • Implement the market strategy within assigned segments; understand clients’ “pain points” and the value that our products deliver; provide market/competitive intelligence to the Marketing team
  • Act as the project manager for multi-functional sales and demonstration efforts, coordinating with customers or partners, vendors, and internal team members
  • Negotiate sales contracts
  • Maintain customer and partner data in a CRM system
  • Actively support and serve as a resource for members of the commercial team
  • Operate in an ethical manner that represents ZwitterCo’s values and vision

  • Ability to work remotely with limited oversight


  • Experience selling equipment associated with water treatment, fluid separations, solid-liquid separations is preferred
  • Preferred candidates will have a four-year university degree in either a scientific or engineering discipline, or a business discipline
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and leading CRM tools, like Salesforce or HubSpot
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Schedule, Travel, Compensation, and Location

This position is considered remote, but candidates should expect to travel to company headquarters in Woburn, MA, for training and team-building purposes. This position will require 30-50% travel, primarily in North America. Compensation is commensurate with experience and will include equity and benefits.
