Operations Technician
Overview of Role
ZwitterCo is announcing an immediate opening for an Operations Technician seeking a collaborative role in a rapidly expanding cleantech startup. Candidates who are familiar with the operation of industrial water filtration equipment, general assembly, and product packaging are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing of membrane filtration units using industrial-scale process equipment
- Actively participate in quality control, keeping a close eye out for defects or off-spec products
- Preserve, vacuum-bag, and box tested products and sort according to shipment manifest
- Enter testing results into QC database and check testing data performed by others
- Keep meticulous records and follow documentation procedures to ensure every serial number is tracked
- Future growth opportunities may include assembly of the membrane modules and/or operation of other manufacturing equipment
- Other manufacturing/quality control/R&D activities as needed by the company
- Work in an ethical manner that represents ZwitterCo’s values and vision
Qualifications
- 3+ years working in a similar manufacturing or QC role involving testing and/or packaging of physical components
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and data entry
- Performing and checking arithmetic on collected data (with a calculator)
- Experience operating process equipment with pumps, valves, etc.
- Experience working safely with simple chemicals and/or solvents
- Training & licensure for forklift operation
Schedule, Travel, Compensation, and Location
This position will initially be based in Ayer, MA. We expect to relocate this job to our new facility in Woburn, MA, most likely in Aug-Sep 2022. Candidates must be able to work in either location. The position will be permanently based in Woburn.
This job is for first shift (M-F 9-5). Since the facility is currently single shift, this could potentially be moved to accommodate easier commutes (for example, 7-3), but this will depend on the needs and preferences of the team.
Target compensation for this role is $22 – 25/hr. plus a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 for exceptionally qualified candidates. Additional benefits include health coverage, 401k plan, and stock options.
